Year-End Dental Reminders

How DID the end of the year get here so fast? Perhaps challenges in recent months have understandably riveted our focus on other things. Yet the days have moved quickly onward, and now we find ourselves about to head into a new year. Before 2024 is over, we at MaconSmiles in North Macon will give you a few important dental reminders.

First, take advantage of your dental insurance benefits before they are gone! Remember, dental benefits do not carry over from one year to the next. If you don't use them, you lose them.

Second, we'd like to remind you that postponing dental visits only allows problems to worsen. For example, small cavities that could quickly and easily be filled for little cost, if not taken care of, can become root canals and crowns that aren't as easy on your pocket. In fact, almost all dental issues tend to cost more the longer you put them off. So book your dental visit NOW!

Finally, we'd like to remind you to be sure to learn the finer points about any new dental insurance:

• Is there a waiting period before it will pay for certain services? - Nowadays there is usually a waiting period for major procedures, and lately, some insurance companies have issued waiting periods before they pay for basic services too.
• How much is the deductible?
• How much in dental benefits will your insurance payout each year?
• Does your dental insurance have "Out of Network" benefits?
• Will it pay toward any special procedures you may be interested in or need, such as:  Implants, Bite Guards, Snoring Appliances, or Orthodontics?

Chances are you have annual dental benefits which you have yet to use. The cosmetic dentist in North Macon says that these yearly benefits would still be available for taking care of your needs. It would be imperative, however, to book your dental appointments quickly, so that any dental work can be completed within the year.
